Design & Lighting Plan

Only once the calculation is correct do we develop the column layout, spacing, and lighting plan in CAD and BIM — coordinated to the scheme’s road geometry and classification requirements. Luminaire Specification

Which standards do you design to for UK, Irish, and Middle East highway schemes?

UK schemes are designed to DMRB and MCHW alongside BS 5489-1 and BS EN 13201. Irish schemes follow TII's DN-LHT-03038. Middle East schemes are calculated to BS EN 13201 classification principles and coordinated with the relevant local Road and Transport Authority's requirements. We confirm the governing standard set with you at project kickoff so there's no ambiguity at review stage.

A highway scheme can run for miles — how do you design it without visiting the site?

We work from client-supplied topographical and GPR survey data, plus desktop assessment using aerial and mapping data. Where a physical survey or site visit is genuinely needed for a particular scheme, we coordinate it through our delivery partners in the UK and Ireland on a chargeable basis, rather than leaving it as a gap in the process.

What's not included, and what do we actually receive at handover?

We're a design consultancy — fixture supply, installation, electrical connection works, and statutory or permit submissions sit outside our scope.
